Description & Qualifications

UKG is seeking a motivated attorney to drive legal matters in EMEA. This role will primarily focus on the review, drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial agreements to support the company’s diverse offerings, including SaaS agreements, software licenses, equipment purchase agreements and professional services agreements.

In this role, you will provide vital legal and operational support to our regional EMEA team on a wide range of legal matters affecting the region. You will work closely with our Sales and Services teams and in conjunction with internal partners in our Information Security, Cloud, Product Management, Finance and other teams.

The role will report to the UKG EMEA Legal Director. Whilst the role will be based in the UK - and some attendance at UKG offices will be necessary - we will look to enable flexibility to work from home, our London office and/or our Bracknell office.

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial and corporate agreements, including customer contracts, vendor contracts, and software and SaaS licensing agreements.
• Analyse legal risk with attention to detail while creatively overcoming obstacles.
• Assist Contract Negotiators (non-attorneys) in their support of sales negotiations.
• Create and update UKG agreement templates.
• Provide timely support to our Sales organisation and other cross-functional stakeholders (including by creating and delivering training).
• Ad hoc projects as required to advise global cross-functional teams.

• Qualified to practice law in England & Wales
• English speaker, other languages (French and/or German) will be considered a plus.
• A proven first experience in negotiating, drafting and advising clients on commercial contracts (technology-related would be a strong advantage), including multi-jurisdictional transactions, software licensing and cloud services.
• Knowledge and experience handling privacy issues and laws.
• Self-starter able to work in a very fast paced, changing environment with ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
• Exceptional communication skills and an ability to engage effectively with a variety of levels and audiences.
• Ability and confidence necessary to work independently and across multiple functions.
• Previous in-house experience at an enterprise SaaS company is a plus, as is multi-lingual capability.
