Description

A Business Analyst at UKG is an essential member of a cutting-edge agile team, responsible for the delivery of functionality for our innovative cloud based Human Capital Management software solution. This individual is an analytical thinker with domain knowledge and strong customer focus, who is accountable for researching, analyzing and documenting clear and actionable business requirements in a way that they can be distributed across one or more development teams, to incrementally deliver the desired functionality.

This role requires talent and passion for collaboration and will be working with skilled Software Engineers, Business Analysts and Product Managers in creating high-quality software for customers and the organization in his/her product area. Skills essential to this role are strong analysis, organization, written and verbal communication, ability to grasp new domains quickly and a disciplined approach to the processes (escalations, JIRA, documentation…) specific to UKG.

Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
• Owns definition and direction of complex features and enhancements.
• Defines and documents stories and conditions of acceptance with other stakeholders input including UX Designers, Developers and QA.
• Utilizes exceptional communication skills and collaborates well with onshore and offshore resources.
• Validates proposed value with customers and prospects using research, prototypes, and designs.
• Identifies and manages cross team dependencies when leading a feature through the development process.
• Helps ensure customers and the organization is ready for new product releases by providing learning content and material and participating in knowledge transfer events as needed.
• Drives features through the development process by working with engineering, prioritizing functional requirements, making appropriate scope tradeoffs, and ensuring completed capability satisfies customers’ needs in a timely manner.
• Learns customer needs by participating in customer & internal stakeholder meetings.
• Assists members services and engineering troubleshooting product escalations.
• Identifies and proposes process changes including a plan and success measures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a business discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 or more years of experience in a Product Owner or Business Analyst role.
• 2+ years’ experience in Agile or Lean Software Development environment such as Kanban or Scrum.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Functional and technical knowledge of HCM strongly desired.
• Certifications in HR related fields (e.g. CPP, FPC, CPA, PHR, SHRM-CP, CPP).

• Ability to successfully work within a team and manage a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Self-motivated and willing to “do what it takes” to get the job done.
• High degree of organizational skills.
• Positive team player attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ensures active participation of all team member in meetings. Able to guide individuals with different personalities and styles to a common outcome. Creates an inclusive environment.
• Obsessed with delivering value to customers.
