Cloud Database (PostgreSQL/EnterpriseDB PPAS) Administrator is responsible for overseeing the database administration functions of Cloud Operations. This position is responsible for database implementation as well as maintenance of PostgreSQL DB in a multi-tenant enterprise SaaS, high scale environment running on cloud (GCP). This role will work closely with other DBAs, development, architecture, and infrastructure teams to design and administer databases to provide and enforce contractual SLAs.

• Install and Administer PostgreSQL (emphasis on EnterpriseDB versions)
• Disaster Recovery Planning and Implementation
• Lead migration of PostgreSQL into Public Cloud
• Design, configure, and automate PostgreSQL database clusters
• Define and establish best practices with PostgreSQL, including configuration, monitoring health and backups of the cluster
• Developing scripts for a range of maintenance activities
• Patch/upgrade PostgreSQL in a HA architecture
• Managing connection poolers (pgPool and pgBouncer)
• Managing failover managers in PostgreSQL (EDB Enterprise Failover Manager/Repmgr)
• Implementation and management of PPAS in a Cloud Environment (GCP a plus)
• Analyze and resolve performance issues and assist with RCAs
• Expert in problem solving, planning, organization, and documentation


• 3-5+ years of experience working as a PostgreSQL DBA with an experience of supporting Cloud customer facing production environments
• Must have experience in relational SQL and NO SQL databases. Extensive design and development experience on PostgreSQL with implementation knowledge on cloud (AWS/GCP)
• Hands-on experience in performance tuning PostgreSQL
• Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture
• Experience working effectively and collaboratively as a member of a product development team.
• Must be able to manage time effectively and to deliver on commitments
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills for both technical and non-technical audiences and customers
• Strong knowledge in UNIX/LINUX platforms (knowledge of Java platforms & middleware is a plus)
• BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• PPAS Database, EnterpriseDB Database Administrator Certified Associate or Professional Preferred
