The Director, Engineering Program Management (PMO) is responsible for driving the program execution of Software Development Programs in a global, agile environment and the continued development of a high performing PMO organization.
In this role, you will actively lead or manage a portfolio of major global initiatives and individual product/functional programs, working closely with Senior Engineering & Product Leadership including Engineering Directors, Product Directors, Master Architects and CloudOps. You will also directly manage a team of program/project managers.
Main Attributes/Behaviors:
• Directly manage PMO resources (program and project managers): mentoring, developing and coaching team members
• Working with Engineering and Product leadership, develop and implement comprehensive plans that deliver business value to our customers with a high level of quality
• Communicate strategy, plans, issues and risks effectively throughout the organization
• Make strategic and tactical recommendations to Senior Engineering Leadership to ensure successful delivery of plans and solutions
• Working globally and across functions to advance business goals and objectives
• Obsessed with creating a positive experience for customers
• Anticipates and solves problems creatively, maintaining high levels of productivity, while focusing on high quality results
• Demonstrates a track record of being accountable for driving optimal results for the business, while creating an environment of trust and collaboration
• Understand and advance agile/scrum best practices across the global PMO organization
• Partners effectively with our Scrum Practice to continuously improve our SDLC and its execution
Global PMO Leadership:
• Creates and delivers presentations, develops communications and communicates to cross-functional audiences both internally and externally
• Challenges the status quo! Push boundaries, acts in a forward-thinking and innovative ways to raise the bar
• Identifies, develops, and implements tools and metrics to drive project/program management success
• Work with the global PMO leadership to drive consistency and continuous improvement related to Portfolio Management
• Communicate and plan change management activities involving scope, schedule, etc.
Release Management/DevOps:
• Strong understanding/experience of Release Management process and principles for a SAS/Cloud enterprise portfolio
• Experience working on defined DevOps capability vision and strategy to gain adoption and business value
• Make strategic and tactical recommendations to Senior Engineering and CloudOps Leadership to ensure successful delivery of business goals and objectives


BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline or equivalent experience
• Extensive Program Management experience in global Software Development or Services
• Proficiency in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies, including cross-functional support activities
• Exposure to programming and ability to understand basic software architecture concepts
• Strong understanding of project and program management best practices
• Ability to work within an agile environment and provide coaching to teams to improve their practices
• Prior experience working with geographically distributed teams and off-shoring partners
• Ability to influence across functional boundaries and across multiple organizational levels to drive results
• Proven track record of delivering projects and programs from initiation through implementation
