We are looking for a Director, Site Reliability Engineering with a passion for customer-driven, collaborative, highly technical work to build and lead a team focused on reliability and resiliency of our flagship product, UKG Dimensions.
The right candidate will have a diverse background in technical management, exposure to modern cloud and application development technologies, and the demonstrated ability to collaborate across a complex and distributed organization with a singular focus on enablement and problem solving.
You will be responsible for building a Site Reliability Engineering team, developing and delivering on a vision to proactively and reactively manage reliability, resiliency, performance, and improvement of UKG’s end-to-end ability to respond when issues arise. You will be a key collaborator, leader, and influencer within the UKG Dimensions engineering culture, improving product and process equally to increase customer satisfaction with their SaaS experience.
• The role reports to the Senior Director of Customer Enablement and will be responsible for defining and executing on the mission of the UKG Dimensions SRE team
• Establish a team charter, delivery, and engagement methodology, and metrics to validate results and value as the SRE Center of Excellence
• Be the domain expert who follows industry trends and applies best practices
• Hire, build, and manage an engineering-focused, global SRE team
• Establish and grow SRE individual contributors, including development and career growth plans, with a variety of levels of experience
• Establish and motivate a team culture of accountability, ownership, and customer-first attitude – willing to break down organizational boundaries, challenge status quo, and blaze a trail to serve the needs of our customers and prevent production outages
• Influence architecture and development standards to educate the broader organization on improvements which will result in high availability, performance, resiliency, and reliability


• You have a passion for technology and 8-10+ years’ experience in a combination of software engineering or operations roles with experience managing and leading one or more teams of highly technical, globally distributed individuals
• You have a demonstrated record as an excellent communicator, able to develop strong alliances with those outside of your immediate organization, and work with technical and non-technical peers, supervisors, and executives
• Can work independently and articulate a vision and mission to your own direct reports, as well as stakeholders with an ability to measure and report on results
• You are aware of industry best practices around engineering, operations, and resiliency / reliability
• Working knowledge of at least one major public cloud provider with hands-on experience on major web application technologies (Node, Angular, Java, Spring, etc)
• Knowledge of complex root cause analysis or issue resolution on highly distributed systems is a plus with an awareness of common operations / application monitoring and performance analysis tools.
• Demonstrated ability of establishing and maintaining metrics-based process improvement.
