Description
This role will be responsible for overseeing a variety of projects in the areas of Tax Planning, Tax Controversy, Transfer Pricing and M&A. This position can be based in either Lowell, MA or Weston, FL at least 2 days per week in office and will report to the Sr. Director – Global Tax.This position will focus primarily on non-recurring tax projects, and thus specific responsibilities may vary over time. However specific responsibilities are very likely to include:
• Tracking tax law changes that could impact UKG’s business, and modelling the financial impact of such changes as required
• Managing income tax audits and appeals
• Managing indirect tax appeals
• Providing timely advice to the Legal, Sales and Procurement functions with respect to the tax implications of multinational contracts, as well as customer/vendor requests for amendments to UKG’s standard tax language;
• Self-identifying tax planning opportunities for UKG, validating cash tax planning opportunities pitched by external firms, and managing the execution of any tax planning projects that are approved
• Ensuring transfer pricing requirements are met for new intercompany transactions, and helping to update existing transfer pricing arrangements when required as a result of operational changes
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:• 5 years of full-time tax work experience (A JD, LLM or MST can replace 1 year of the preceding work experience requirements)
• 3+ years of which must have been spent at either a “Big 4” firm, a large law firm, or a large multinational company
• 2+ years experience focused on some combination of International Tax, Tax Planning, Tax Controversy, Transfer Pricing or M&A
• Excellent tax technical skills and project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A solid understanding of cross-border tax laws and concepts
• Demonstrated ability to self-train rapidly with respect to newly enacted tax laws, as well as areas of tax where the candidate does not have prior experience
