Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Database Engineer to lead our team of database Engineers. As a Lead Database Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our database systems, with a primary focus on PostgreSQL. You will also play a key role in driving database-related initiatives, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating with other teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of database engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases.
Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases on Unix systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design database solutions that meet business needs.
• Drive the adoption of automation tools and processes to streamline database operations.
• Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
• Automate database deployment, configuration, and management tasks using Ansible.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to database architecture, configurations, and procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for critical database issues outside of regular business hours.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of experience in database administration, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning techniques.
• Experience with database replication and clustering technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Expert-level knowledge of database design principles, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
