UKG is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead DevOps Cloud Engineer with a background in building web applications and building tooling and automation to manage infrastructure. The primary role is to develop internal tools and automation with a focus on public/private cloud costing and capacity management. You will be working alongside other developers and business analysts creating internal apps that will be utilized to:
• Forecast resource capacity costs/utilization
• Increase visibility and awareness of resource consumption to internal teams
• Design automation and procedures that will manage capacity and costs via trended metrics, service requests and budgets
• Plan and Implement chaos engineering practices

You will also

• Work with our internal customers on gathering tooling requirements, scoping out their use cases and taking their projects through the Design, Develop, Test and Deploy phases
• Guide other teams on capacity, budget planning and scaling
• Write tests and invoke test automations using our own automated CI/CD pipelines
• Help design and implement our next phase for our internal apps
• Provide support for our deployed apps to our internal customers

Our team is responsible for:
● Performance, Stability, and Reliability considerations
● Capacity planning and budgeting
● Automation processes
● Self Service Tooling

Qualifications

(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
● Experience with Public cloud (Google Cloud preferred) and/or Private cloud (Vmware, Openstack preferred)
● Experience in one or more of the following: Python, Go, Angular, React, Node.js
● Experience in database modeling, relational(MSSQL) and NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB. Big Query is a plus as well.
● Experience in object-oriented analysis, microservice architecture, design patterns & programming, and writing effective unit test automations.
● Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration (e.g., filesystems, inodes, system calls) and networking (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, network topologies).
● Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker or any public cloud deployment preferred
● Knowledge about authentication and authorization principles (SAML, SSO, OAUTH)
