This position works as part of the Governance, Risk and Compliance department, which is responsible for supporting disaster recovery activities across the enterprise. 

The role offers the opportunity to be engaged in all facets of disaster recovery, including security, privacy, risk and crisis management, and compliance.  The individual will be committed to overall data protection and risk management of IT at UKG and building resiliency to ensure the company's continued success. The Disaster Recovery Specialist is a role that interfaces with key stakeholders in the organization and will also support UKG customers and partners. The position demands an organized, action-oriented team player with the ability to prioritize daily work and support multiple initiatives simultaneously; strong communication and customer focus is required.

The ideal candidate has prior experience and/or is familiar with implementing Disaster Recovery strategies and solutions. Candidate should be familiar with compliance standards applicable to Disaster Recovery. Additionally, the candidate will support the tracking of action items, coordinating during Disaster Recovery events, and updating procedures and Disaster Recovery plans regularly in conjunction with adhering to compliance standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• He/she will assist Disaster Recovery Teams in the design, testing and implementation of Disaster Recovery processes for customers.
• Assist with application and system configuration analysis of critical corporate resources to recommend disaster avoidance measures and improved backup capabilities.
• Periodically meet with management to review changes in corporate resources to ensure the effectiveness of the recovery procedures and backup capabilities.
• Coordinate the efforts of staff members in different functional areas to develop procedures for the continuity of business processes in a disaster situation.
• Assure that recovery procedures are effective for the restoration of key corporate resources and for the resumption of critical business processes.
• Assist in the development of standards, strategies, and procedures for disaster recovery documentation.
• Maintain a library of recovery support and business resumption procedures.
• Work with vendors with respect to their disaster recovery services and facilities.
• Work with performance, development, and project teams to coordinate, and test infrastructure fail-over for systems and databases.
• The DR Specialist will support customer testing and manage internal DR planning and configuration support for customers.
• Tracks test data for each for each customer to include functions tested, pass fail and test analysis.
• Communicates with various response teams during testing, create response procedures and support the design, development, installation, implementation, and administration of backup solutions.
• Make recommendations to the operations group on DR system enhancements, design and administer programs to include policies, standards, guidelines, and a viable quality assurance process for disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in related field or equivalent experience with minimum of 10 years overall work experience
• Demonstrated experience working in disaster recovery, information security, risk management and information security frameworks including ISO 27001/27031
• IT background
• Technical acumen to include great verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of disaster recovery practices and risk
• Knowledge of disaster recovery program life cycle and planning
• Ability to collaborate with others to develop disaster recovery plans
• Must have strong organizational, decision making and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail is critical
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
