Description & Requirements


In this role, you will act as a Technical Lead in database concepts, projects, initiatives, capacity planning, and for providing guidance and support to other DBAs. This person will ensure that the database is available, secure, healthy, efficient and recoverable as per expectations. Performs regular system reviews and identify, plan, and implement solutions for current and future needs of product and organization.

• Design solutions, perform POCs, assist Level 2 & 3 DBAs develop and implement solutions
• Use standards and best practices to improve backup and recovery, reduce costs, perform effective maintenance, automate manual tasks, monitor environment, etc.
• Engage in (or supervise and guide other DBAs) in highly escalated and complex issues related to performance, corruption, data recovery or application related P1 scenarios
• Collaborate with other teams to design new or improved processes and procedures
• Create standard guidelines, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting methods and templates
• Conduct periodic technical sessions for team
• Ongoing review of existing configurations and best practices against industry standards (including latest SQL versions and feature use opportunities)
• Participate in decision making by influence others in a positive way with fact based, accurate, research or experience-based proposals


• BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience
• 7-10 years of experience in supporting high transaction SQL environments. Cassandra / PostgreSQL a plus
• Have experience with creating standards for SQL Server database administration, Identify, test, and set best practices for different environments and scenarios
• Design solutions and help the team with logical and physical design, database architecture, high availability, crash recovery and DR concepts
• Must have experience in design and implement monitoring solutions, identify performance bottlenecks and suggest an improvement
• Requires solid understanding of environment components (servers, storage, network, firewall, VM, load balancers, application servers, etc.) and partner with respective teams to achieve goals and resolve issues
• Ability to identify automation requirements and assist in design, development and deployment of solutions
• Understand the current and future needs of the database environment for performance and capacity. Contribute to designing and implementing DR solutions
• Public Cloud experience / SaaS experience
