UKG Pro Time Classic is a WFM suite focused on meeting the horizontal needs of the Midmarket segment. Included there are separate modules for time management, time off, scheduling, and reporting. 
We work in three smaller teams of 7-12 members that fulfill several functions: 

- Work on feature enhancements and other customer satisfaction features (Angular, Java, MySQL)     
- Support several code bases from a development point of view (Java, Spring boot, MySQL) 
- Monitor and maintain the deployed apps and our infrastructure (k8s, openstack, MySQL, RabbitMQ), together with our IaaS and PaaS partner teams 
- Support the customer escalations 24/7 using on call rotations together with our existing customer support teams (Jira, Salesforce) 

As a Software Developer, you'll be embedded on an agile development team. You will get to work directly with other Developers, Product Analysts, Managers, and Directors, all of whom are dedicated to supporting our client's complex technical issues and providing the Ultimate customer experience. In this highly collaborative environment, you will have the opportunity to grow as a Software Engineer and help mentor others. As one of our team members, you will be part of our continued improvement, growth, and expansion of coverage for our Workforce Management Software Solutions. 

Essential Responsibilities: 
- Develop a good functional knowledge for your domain 
- Work directly with clients to resolve their technical issues.  
- Work closely with other development teams for debugging issues, determining root causes and recommend solutions and next actions. 
- Identify common knowledge gaps and work with the Product Analysts on strategies to mitigate them. 
- Identify trends in customer cases/issues and recommend areas where resolutions can be automated 
- Proactively communicate with clients and team members to keep them apprised of issue status and any commitment dates. 
- Participate in cross-training to expand your technical skillset.  
- The ability to clearly document and articulate the root cause of issues and resolutions to customers both verbally and written within the context of a customer service case.  
- Lead feature development from planning/analysis to feature deployment
- Developing software products using modeling techniques and software design patterns 
- Developing web-based business applications 
- Participate in coding & designing of the application software 
- Interpret informal requirement descriptions and detail them for other team members consumption 
- Participate in code and design reviews to ensure quality and conformance to product standards 
- Participate in the teams on-call rotation. 

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience
• Hands-on experience working with programming languages like Spring, Java 8, Angular, TypeScript, NodeJS, SQL etc.
• Good understanding of design patterns, object-oriented analysis, database modelling, etc.
• Experience with unit testing processes and tools (JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock, Karma, Jasmine, etc.).
• Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Experience using one or more ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA
• Experience working in highly complex and large applications.
• Experience with source control tools like Git.
Nice to have:
• Familiar working with Docker / Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Contribute to the suite of automated testing.
• Familiar with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence).
