Description & Qualifications


The role requires a great team player with experience in working in highly collaborative, Agile/SCRUM environment using Test Driven Development methodologies. The role requires the engineer to design, develop and debug a SAAS application using Java/J2EE and Java script programming languages. Work in a devops model for the company’s latest SAAS product. The role will also involve interacting with users and product managers to define app requirements and troubleshooting problems. Specific responsibilities include the following:

• Design and develop backend services for a SAAS product using Java.
• Design and develop REST based web services.
• Design and develop applications and web services that asynchronously interact with various front-end systems like mobile applications and API gateways.
• Design and develop python and shell scripts for automation of the build servers and incorporate CI tools like Jenkins.
• Lead activities for decomposing product requirements into tasks and associated estimates.
• Advice the team on Java technology concepts and best practices during the design process.
• Participate in debugging and troubleshooting issues.
• Participate in standard SAAS product monitoring on a shared bases.
• Collaborate and Participate in code and design reviews to ensure quality and conformance to product standards.


A qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Masters degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronics and 7 to 10 years of industry experience.
Experience must include working with:
(i) Programming in Java.
(ii) Knowledge of programming with NodeJS, Express JS and Type Script is a plus.
(iii) Asynchronous programming with websockets.
(iv) Knowledge of datastructures and common design patterns.
(v) Developing REST based web services using Spring framework.
(vi) Must be proficient with creating and maintain postman collections.
(vii) Developing progressive web apps.
(viii) Overall understanding of authentication frameworks (like OAUTH 2.0) and encryption technologies.
(ix) Must be profiecent in unit testing and test driven development.
(x) Must be profiecent with using mocking frameworks.
(xi) Must have knowedge of working with Hibernate.
(xii) Must be proficient with PostgresSQL and MySQL.
(xiii) Must be profient with API governance concepts. Past experience with an APIGee would be a plus.
(xiv) Knwoledge of encryption would be a plus.
(xv) It would be a plus if the candidate also knows about and integration with Jenkins and CI technologies.
(xvi) Must have worked with GIT.
(xvii) Must have worked with Splunk.
(xviii) A basic knowledge of Google cloud platform is a plus.
(xix) A good understanding of troubleshooting using logs and linux based systems.
(xx) A good understanding of docker and Kubernetes is desirable.
(xxi) A good knowedge of developing on linux systems is a must.
(xxii) A good knowledge of performance tuning in Java is a must.
(xxiii) Prior experience with performance measurement tools like Dynatrace would be a plus.
