UKG is seeking a Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer to help our team define test strategies, develop and execute automated/manual test scripts, and help ensure the delivery of robust, high quality product releases. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following key characteristics:

In the role of Lead SQA Engineer, you would:

• Lead the quality effort of one or more teams and drive the quality processes required for successful product delivery
• Lead vendor teams and help team create Feature test strategy, Identify automated / manual test and regression plan from QA perspective.
• Collaborate with both on and offshore teams to ensure proper integration and delivery of code
• Implement successful test strategies resulting in efficient test development and execution models
• Decompose requirements and user scenarios into test scenarios and test cases
• Contribute to estimation of work and create test plans that align with project deliverables
• Identify test data requirements and generate data sets for testing
• Work with development teams to instrument code for manual and/or automated testing
• Develop and maintain UI and API Test Automation using Java
• Coordinate with teams to eliminate redundancy, ensuring high coverage with optimal effort
• Execute tests, interpret results, and communicate on a regular basis, resulting in quick solutions to any quality concerns.
• Create and maintain traceability matrix using test management tools
• Learn the domain of the application and become a subject matter expert for assigned task areas
• Analyze defects, understand root cause, work with the development and architects in establishing solutions
• Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to diagnose and triage production issues


• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or applicable development work experience
• 5-7 years of experience as a Software or Quality Engineer or Software Engineer with coding skills in Java
• Experience working in a cloud environment (SaaS)
• Understanding of test automation, test tool creation, automation frameworks
• Experience testing REST-based API preferably using REST Assured (2+ years)
• Hands-on experience with UI Automation using Selenium (2+ years)
• Understanding of design and coding with an emphasis on building test automation and tools
• Experience working in a Linux environment utilizing virtual machines
• Knowledge of full software development life cycle, QA methodology, tools and software testing standards
• Shows creativity and initiative to improve test coverage and effectiveness and can troubleshoot in complex environments
• Strong communication and influencing skills
