Job Summary:

The Manager, Managed Services manages and coordinates activities and operations of the payroll department and staff. The Manager establishes strong client relationships as well as provides a heavy emphasis on process improvement and acts as a back-up to the Manager in CA

Duties and Key Responsibilities:


• Oversees accurate and timely client payroll-related functions including but not limited to processing new hires, termination status changes, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, and direct deposit.
• Oversees the review, verification, and processing of payroll data.
• Oversees the processing of manual checks as necessary.
• Responds to escalated customer service and payroll-related inquiries including but not limited to payroll deductions and accruals, wage garnishments, child support payments, and employment verifications; resolves employee issues.
• Responsible for the development, distribution, and oversight of proactive communication to client employees for payroll related changes. This includes managing and tracking responses.
• Generate operational metrics to communicate and manage the performance of the production team
• Train team members on new or enhanced operation procedures and policies.
• Reviews and assures accuracy of payroll, deductions, and payroll tax information.
• Oversees preparation of month-end and government reports.
• Conducts periodic client and team meetings to ensure problems are addressed and to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (B. A.) or equivalent, at least five years related experience at a management level, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Advanced knowledge in Excel
• 2+ years leadership experience
• 2+ years strategic initiatives experience
• 5+ years of process definition and operational excellence experience
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws
• Knowledge of Canadian payroll laws preferred
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates
