Position overview: The Manager of Product defines and evangelizes the overall strategy and vision for user interface platform elements. These include navigation, inbox messaging, search, home screen, and user preferences across the UKG Pro product suite.

As a manager of product, you will understand your customer and market needs, derive a compelling product strategy, and work with your product managers, engineering, and design leaders to build roadmaps that addresses those needs. You will be responsible for making prioritization decisions that maximize the value of your product line and coaching your product team to do the same for their individual products. This role will be responsible for determining and managing an overall budget for staffing and contractor needs and will directly manage 1-8 product managers and business analysts.

Primary/essential duties and key responsibilities:
1. Set and lead the direction for the Product Experience product line
• Apply expert knowledge of product management practices to provide direction to product managers, business analysts, and other product team professionals.
• Develop product management team objectives and goals
• Envision a 3 year and 1 year product line strategy and roadmap for your product line that aligns with the overall company portfolio strategy and vision
• Monitor team results and success metrics reports and apply learning to new and improved product management processes.
• Stay current with emerging best practices, tools, and standards within the product management field.
• Develop and maintain a growth strategy for the product management team regarding technology, equipment, people and process needs
• Effectively and efficiently manage work capacity of the product management team
• Establish subject matter expertise in your product line and represent the product on critical internal, customer and prospect interactions.

2. Deliver innovative products that effectively balance customer, technology, and business goals
• Provide guidance on creating 3-year and 1-year product visions that provide value to the customer and UKG while being technically feasible with our current platform architecture and technologies.
• Provide guidance on utilizing an MVP approach to create product roadmaps that continuously deliver incremental value to customers.
• Provide guidance to the product management team on managing the product backlog, ideas, and dependencies, while removing roadblocks and setting priorities.
• Review product management team and user experience team deliverables and provide recommendations for improvement when needed
• Ensure that product management team deliverables and features are completed within deadline and budget constraints

3. Advocate the needs of our customers
• Regularly research the competitive landscape to ensure industry leading products and services
• Proactively, clearly, and articulately communicate user research insights and recommendations to key stakeholders
• Ensure that the customer is represented during product strategy decisions and discussions
• Represent the current state of the product for our customers with relevant metrics, benchmarks, and usage data.
• Engage frequently and proactively with key customers and sales personnel to collect feedback

Qualifications

Required knowledge and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Systems
• 8+ years working in a product capacity such as business analyst, product owner, product management or delivery management.
• 5+ years leading people directly as a people manager or indirectly as a lead role for product or delivery teams
• An understanding of agile methodologies and practices.
• Experience working with UX and an understanding of UX methodologies and practices.
• Experience working alongside engineers and basic understanding of web applications, SAAS, and cloud software.
• Ability to clearly articulate complex product problems and solutions using strong communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent relationship management skills involving multidisciplinary teams.
• Organized self-starter that is highly productive, has a strong work ethic, is detail-oriented, is methodical and has a “Can do” attitude.

Preferred:
• Experience working with remote and/or international teams
• Product Management certification
• MBA or equivalent
