UKG is currently seeking a Payroll Tax Associate II I who will be responsible for analyzing and balancing our customer’s payroll tax liability. This individual will also be responsible for resolving prior period variances and ensuring that the client Quarter-To-Date/Year-To Date information is accurate and balanced on a continuous basis. The qualified candidate will have strong customer service, payroll, payroll tax filing, SQL, & BI Cognos Reporting experience. This position will demand strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving expertise.

• Perform quarterly reconciliation and data analysis between tax liability W2/W3/T4/T4a/Rl1
• Reconcile payroll taxes at the employee level
• Tax Adjustment & Amendment knowledge
• Perform tasks and reporting by SQL & BI Cognos
• Play a lead role in Year-End processing for accurate W2, T4 & RL1
• Communicate directly with tax filing partner as well as internal/external customer regarding tax inquiries
• Facilitate tax meeting with internal/external customers
• Research and resolve tax notices
• Ensure that all tax related updates are fully reviewed/tested before/ after being implemented in the payroll system
• Perform internal audits as requested
• Identify and resolve issues as well as drive change for related improvements
• Tax Operational subject matter expert and trainer facilitates and/or coordinates any necessary payroll/customer training identified
• Responsible for tax related case management


• Demonstrated knowledge of all areas of employment tax processing (Tax Deposits, Return filing, Tax Notice, Adjustments/Amendments, etc…)
• Track record of subject matter expertise skillset proven over multiple clients and/or multi jurisdictional varying complexity
• Proven track record of client stabilization
• Knowledge of jurisdiction guidelines and the ability to interpret and explain employment tax laws
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (with a focus on excel)

• Experience working with regulatory agencies on payroll taxation related inquiries
• Proven Quarter – End and Year – End proficiency
• Knowledge of Ultipro
• SQL & BI Cognos Report Creation capabilities
• Customer transition and implementation
• Inpat/Expat tax and/or payroll processing
• Research and resolve tax items within a GL
• Tax Filing experience with Mergers & Acquisitions, Successor/Predecessor, Common Pay Master, and Common Pay Agent
• 3rd Party tax filing experience
• Canada Tax
