The UKG Payroll Services (formerly Kronos Payroll Services) Tax Support role delivers high-quality tier I support for our UKG Payroll Services clients. The Specialty Support Representative is expected to deliver payroll tax support utilizing outstanding customer service skills and techniques that promote customer satisfaction and retention.

This role is expected to assist clients with tax code maintenance within the Payroll Services module of the application and tax filing software (MasterTax). In addition, this role will assist UKGPS Tax and Support teams with managing incoming tax cases including client communication, case triage and assignment. The types of cases the UKG Payroll Services Tax Support team member will handle include adding new tax codes, updating existing tax codes, missing tax IDs, and returned tax payments. Other primary responsibilities include case review/triage and assignment of notices and amendments for processing. In addition, this role will be located in our Irvine office and be expected to assist with printing and packaging of payroll shipments on site, 6-8 hours/week.

• Utilize payroll tax knowledge to complete requests submitted by end users timely and accurately.
• Ability to research questions independently by utilizing available resources.
• Provide timely, accurate and complete responses to all inquiries.
• Utilize Salesforce to accurately record all activity for each case handled.
• Consistently and effectively communicate with management to ensure issues are escalated where appropriate.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, as well as to collaborate effectively across other teams within the Payroll Services organization.


The right person for this position will ideally have at minimum entry-level domain knowledge in Payroll and Payroll Taxes.

• Previous experience using Payroll and/or Payroll Tax applications, tax calculations, or related experience
• 2-year degree or equivalent work experience in payroll, accounting, or tax preferred
• Successful client service experience with a proven track record of customer satisfaction
• Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent written, oral communication, listening and telephone skills
• Self-starter with proven ability to effectively manage time and meet performance metrics
• Team player, maintaining frequent communication and interactions with remotely dispersed team
• Strong computer skills with a proficiency in Web applications and Microsoft Office Suite
