Description

This architecture role is a hands-on, leadership role combining technical expertise with strategic vision and mentoring in implementing relational and non-relational database technology in a cloud environment at an enterprise scale. The successful candidate has a core background in relational databases along with experience in data pipelines, integration, common messaging platforms, NoSQL platforms, and Cloud Data offerings to provide data solutions to multiple stakeholders and meet the organization's data needs. Additional experience in non-relational database architecture and design is extremely desirable. You will guide and mentor a team of database professionals and architects to plan and implement enhancements to our data layer. You will be supporting numerous business and operational functions, while providing a reliable, scalable, stable data platform upon which our business can continue to grow. You will also be part of a product engineering team.

Qualifications

• Must show progressive advancement in engineering and architecture roles with 1+ years of experience at a Principal level and 3+ years in an architect role
• 3+ years owning and leading the architecture of modern data platforms and designing Logical and physical Data Models for DW/BI applications
• 1+ years building data centric solutions in a Public Cloud environment, GCP preferred. AWS or Azure acceptable. Certifications are a major bonus.
• 1+ years working with a Cloud Data Warehouse, BigQuery preferred. Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Data Warehouse acceptable
• 3+ years building microservices and strong understanding of microservice architecture, challenges and advantages
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with streaming platforms, tools, and frameworks. Kafka, Apache Beam and Spark preferred
• 3+ years of hands-on experience working with multiple database solutions including MPP, Hadoop, Columnar, Cache, in-memory, RDBMS, and NoSQL platforms. MongoDb, Cassandra, Elastic, MSSQL, Postgresql
• 3+ years of software development experience writing proficient code in Java, Scala, or Python
• Skilled at designing and implementing data backup and recovery in cross datacenter scenarios to support business continuity
• Experience implementing enterprise class Business Intelligence presentation layer platforms. Looker, Cognos, Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI to name a few
• Experience with Master Data Management, Data Governance, Data Lineage via tools like Alation, Collibra, or open source equivalents
• Experience with Data Virtualization tools similar to Denodo
