About the Team

UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) is looking for a highly skilled Principal Data Analyst to join our EPIC (Engineering, Product, Innovation, Cloud) Data Organization. Our team develops modern cloud native solutions to source, extract, load, transform, analyze, dashboard, and deliver data out to our 6,500-person EPIC organization.

About the Role
As a Principal Business Data Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to provide technical expertise and leadership to a team of Data Analysts, working collaboratively with various stakeholders, and analyzing complex data sets to drive informed business decisions. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, strong analytical capabilities, and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires talent and passion for collaboration and will be working with skilled Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Visualization Engineers, Product Management and Business Leaders in creating high-quality deliverables for customers and the organization in the data domain. Skills essential to this role are strong analysis, organization, written and verbal communication, ability to grasp new domains quickly and a disciplined approach to the processes specific to UKG.
Primary Responsibilities
• Support a team of Data Analysts and Visualization Engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, timely, and accurate data-driven insights, reports, and dashboards
• Foster a culture of collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement within the Data Analyst team and across the Data organization
• Serve as a subject matter expert in data analysis and visualization, providing guidance and mentorship to team members
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and business teams to identify and prioritize data analysis requirements and ensure alignment
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Analyze complex data sets and communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, identifying connections and insights to inform decision-making at both a strategic and tactical level
• Refine business objectives and requirements into precise technical requirements that can be comprehended by data analysts

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

· 8+ years of professional experience with a strong background in data-centric work, including experience with database-oriented applications, database and warehouse architecture, and administration across multiple platforms

· Demonstrated expertise using Python in a notebook environment such as Jupyter Notebook to perform data manipulation, Exploratory Data Analysis, Statistical Analysis, Data Visualization, and modeling tasks

· The ability to analyze business requirements and break them down into feasible and actionable tasks that can be assigned to the data analytics team

· 5+ years of professional experience writing complex SQL queries for data profiling and ad-hoc data analysis

· 3-5 years of business experience in developing, maintaining, and interpreting data, reports, and insights · Ability to deep dive into data, identify opportunities for value creation through data, and design creative and sustainable data solutions

· Experience working in data team

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong leadership and mentorship skills with a focus on collaboration and teamwork

• Proficiency in leveraging Power BI to deliver enterprise-scale reports, dashboards, scorecards, and ad-hoc reports to provide critical business insights

• Proficiency in data wrangling, modeling, and data visualization techniques
