About the Team:

Want to work with a fantastic team on some cutting-edge technologies for an employer just recently ranked #20 by Forbes Magazine in their “America’s Best Employers for Diversity in 2023” report? UKG’s Implementation & Delivery team is seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer (P4) with private and public cloud experience to join our team, supporting our private and public cloud solutions. As our products grow, we are continually enhancing our cloud-based infrastructure to scale and improve our services’ performance, scalability and reliability.

Requirements:

• Experience and in-depth knowledge of Public Cloud environments (GCP, AWS, AZURE) and associated networking technologies (VPCs, Shared VPC, Load Balancing, etc.).
• Experience working on projects with a cross-functional team of experts to create best-practice public-cloud networking environments at scale.
• Exposure to containerized and serverless technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE) and their designs, implementation, and ongoing support.
• Lead the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring best practices for scalability, resiliency, and security.
• Experience in the design, deployment and Continuous Improvement of scalable and highly available public and private cloud network designs.
• Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network-specific events.
• Develop automated tools and methods to detect, mitigate and remediate network events.
• May be required to participate in on-call rotation and handle escalations in fast-paced environment or seldom work over the weekends to support implementation of critical infrastructure changes.
• Provide user support, incident responses, and postmortems

Qualifications

Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience working with orchestration/configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
• Experience using programming languages such as Python for automation of network tasks.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure As Code tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation and Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Experience in Linux/Unix command line and command line tools.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and infrastructure hardening practices.
• Preferred certifications in Terraform and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues in production environments
