Description

The UKG Pro Mobile product development team is seeking a motivated and experienced DevOps Engineer with a background in building web applications, tooling and automation. You will be working alongside team Developers and Business Analysts helping us make progress on our journey towards a CI/CD, Devops culture by:
-Helping us understand how our services are behaving – including capturing metrics using code instrumentation techniques and creating dashboards to observe application health
-Building and maintaining tools, solutions and microservices associated with deployment, ensuring that all meet our customer service standards and reduce errors
-Working with the engineering team to actively troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and production
-Testing our system integrity, implemented designs, application developments and other processes related to infrastructure, making improvements as needed

Qualifications

-Strong understanding of DevOps principles and approaches
-Strong understanding in operations/maintenance approaches
-Strong understanding of cyber security fundamentals and networking architecture and protocols
-Strong understanding of observability fundamentals (monitoring, alerting, analytics etc.) and tooling
-Strong understanding of CI/CD fundamentals and configuration management and tooling
-Strong understanding of infrastructure orchestration/automation (IaaC) and tooling
-General understanding in version control technologies and tooling
-Very strong troubleshooting/debugging skills
-General understanding in software quality assurance and software testing
-Strong understanding of Linux internals
-General understanding of Windows internals
Kubernetes, cloud skills and monitoring
-Strong understanding of fundamental containerization technologies
-General understanding of K8s architecture and internals
-Fluent usage of kubectl and/or UI tool (for ex., Lense)
-Applications runtime troubleshooting skills
-Strong understanding of general private/public cloud technologies
-Strong understanding of monitoring and alerting tools (Kibana, Grafana, Splunk, PagerDuty)
-General understanding of DB internals (engines, bindings, proxies, clustering etc.)
-Fluency in generic SQL queries writing
Programming skills
-Strong understanding in general software architecture
-Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, JSON etc.)
