We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our Payment Solutions team! As a technical leader you will empower the team to deliver quality software in a timely manner and continuously improve the development process. You will work with business analysts, product managers, customers and other stakeholders to understand the product vision and feature requirements and help the team establish a technical approach to delivering features that is in line with architectural standards and best practices.

Job Responsibilities:
•Ensure team engineers are incorporating best practices, design patterns, and other sound development methodologies when needed while assisting team engineers to overcome challenges
•Support the technical and professional growth of teammates by creating opportunities for them to excel as well as guiding and training new team members during onboarding and beyond
•Interview prospective candidates for the team or domain and work to refine the interview process when needed
•Lead, engage, and drive interactions to find a solution to technical/design or business challenges and maintain continuous improvements
•Engage with architects, technical leads, and peers to create, maintain and cultivate the shared vision to deliver the best possible solution
•Lead and guide critical initiatives that often require complex technical and domain knowledge and participate in code reviews assisting in maintaining and refining engineering standards
•Empower and assist with troubleshooting escalations and critical issues and take ownership until the issue is resolved
•Manage coordination and implementation of cross-team deliverables on behalf of the team

Qualifications

•Excellent problem-solving skills and technical vision.
•Strong organizational, prioritization and leadership skills
•5 or more years’ experience as a software engineer delivering solutions to Production
•Ability to communicate complex technical problems in practical terms
•In-depth experience in building large-scale, high-availability SaaS solutions in the cloud
•Understanding of current, and widely accepted, software development standards and practices
•Understanding of service-oriented architecture and continuous delivery
•Experience with agile/lean development methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum
•Experience with event-driven architecture
•Building cloud-native applications with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions
•Identify and correct shortcomings with existing technologies and tooling in order to craft constantly improving solutions with the ability to work autonomously
