UKG is seeking a Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer to help our team define test strategies, develop and execute automated/manual test scripts, and help ensure the delivery of robust, high-quality product releases. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following key characteristics & responsibilities:

• Play a key role in the quality effort of one or more teams and drive the quality processes required for successful product delivery
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure proper integration and delivery of code
• Implement successful test strategies resulting in efficient test development and execution models
• Contribute to the estimation of work
• Work with development teams to instrument code for manual and/or automated testing
• Coordinate with teams to eliminate redundancy, ensuring high coverage with optimal effort
• Execute tests, interpret results, and communicate on a regular basis, resulting in quick solutions to any quality concerns.
• Learn the domain of the application and become a subject-matter expert for assigned task areas
• Analyze defects, understand root cause, work with the development and architects in establishing solutions
• Implement test frameworks and tools to enable development teams to confidently make changes


• 4+ years of experience as a Software or Quality Engineer or Software Engineer with object-oriented programming skills; strong knowledge of full software development life cycle, QA methodology, tools and software testing standards
• Experience providing team, technical and project leadership to SDET teams
• Demonstrated experience writing and executing complex functional test cases and test plans at both the functional and feature level
• Understanding of test automation, test tool creation, automation frameworks required, as well as experience testing REST-based API.
• Demonstrated experience successfully executing different testing methodologies (Performance, White and Black Box testing)
• Ability to write SQL queries to create/modify test data and debug issues
• Experience with agile/lean development methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum
• Proven experience mentoring new QA associates
• Understanding of design and coding with an emphasis on building test automation and tools
• Experience working with robust automated tests with a high level of maintainability
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to utilize data to drive decisions
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Writing automated tests using python is ideal
• Using CI systems such as Concourse, TeamCity or Jenkins is ideal
• Testing and debugging APIs using tools like Postman is ideal
• Experience using performance testing frameworks such as Locust, Gatling, JMeter is ideal
