We are looking for an experienced Technical Analyst to join the Data Analytics Product team and take responsibility for translating business and architectural requirements into detailed technical specifications, with initial focus on data pipelines between UKG cloud-based Workforce Management software products and downstream data warehousing solutions. You will analyze business goals, technical objectives and architectural guidance and create detailed specifications for the Engineering teams.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Work with product managers and architects to define system requirements and turn them into detailed technical specifications, in the form of agile stories and supporting documentation
• Manage the story backlog for Data Engineering, serving as the product expert and ensuring they have the information needed for the development of high-quality software
• Work closely with software architects to ensure UKG technical standards are observed and designs meet product requirements
• Identify dependencies on other product teams outside the Data domain, and engage with those teams to articulate requests, secure commitments, coordinate release plans, and ensure ongoing alignment of feature delivery
• Actively participate in shaping the product roadmap and release plans
• Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with all members of the Data Platforms organization as well as stakeholders across UKG.
• Triage complex customer escalations that Support is unable to resolve without assistance from product experts. Dispatch trouble tickets to the appropriate Engineering, Cloud and other teams when their involvement is required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the enterprise software industry, in technology-oriented roles such as software engineer, tester, and/or technical analyst
• Demonstrated ability to elicit and understand complex business and technical requirements and translate them into detailed specifications ready for consumption by Engineering
• Hands-on experience in querying databases and analyzing logs
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON file format, and API client tools such as Postman
• Fundamental understanding of at least one modern programming language such as Java or Python
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, architectures, and design principles
• Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• The ability to work on simultaneous projects and deal with multiple competing priorities
• Organized, hardworking, dedicated, with a strong sense of accountability and passion for solving complex problems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Agile methodologies such as Scrum and/or Kanban
• Experience with Jira
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and associated data warehousing technologies such as Beam and BigQuery
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
• Experience with workforce management applications
