The SAM Associate manager position will be responsible for leading the team that will be working on the daily operations that run the SAM Program in UKG and will be reporting directly to the SAM Senior Manager.
You will work with the team while they perform their duties in tracking, maintaining, and coordinating license compliance and requests.
You will develop and analyze reports that aid in identifying license entitlements, installations, usage, and shortfalls/overages.
You will manage the day-to-day use of the Discovery and Compliance Tools in UKG to provide effective inventories to build licensing positions from.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead the Daily operations of SAM Tools SODA and JDISC to maintain discovery Data up to date and also work with other teams and Tools like Tanium and Axonius to coordinate inventories
- Supervise the SAM Ticket Queue in the ServiceNOW Portal to make sure tickets are handled in a timely manner
- Work together with the SAM team and others to prepare reports for Licensing status of Software publishers
- Help the team to create and maintain documentation on all procedures and update them accordingly during the year
- Ensure that emails and escalations get a proper and timely response
- Work with Managed Service Vendor in Support of the SAM Program
- Manage re-harvesting and license optimization process and look for opportunities for expansion
- Communicate with both technical and non-technical teams about the SAM program and how it benefits them
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to aid decision making processes for the overall Procurement and SAM Teams
- Independently works on both tactical activities and large projects including both licensing and process changes with a high level of discretion and independence. Exhibit a sense of ownership for projects delegated by management/leadership, including pushing projects along and responsibility for results

Skills and Qualifications

- Possess strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving skills, including the ability to accumulate, organize, and assimilate large amounts of information.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills when dealing with the company’s team members at all levels of the organization. Will also work with the company’s suppliers/vendors and will be required to negotiate without damaging relationships but rather work in a spirit of partnership by utilizing the skills of persuasion and influence.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical teams
- Should also have excellent active listening skills.
- Written communication is important since you will need to be able to create professional documents for SAM and internal Teams.
- Should demonstrate the desire to continually be learning and evolving.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Must be a results-driven self-starter, who is able to act proactively in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

- Bachelors in Business, Information Systems/Technology preferred or equivalent work experience in SAM Field
- 2-3 years’ experience managing a team of two or more
- Knowledge of a yearly Employee review process
- Experienced use of ITAM tools to maintain Licensing and Compliance within a company
- Working knowledge of ITSM systems primarily ServiceNOW
- Expert Skills with Office Tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities in strategies, product and licensing demands and purchasing timelines through analytical capabilities.
- Knowledge of Software Asset Management principals / practices a plus
- Great familiarity with product use rights for publishers such as Oracle, Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, VMware etc. a plus
- Work with PowerBI / Grafana Dashboard and reporting tools a plus
