Description & Qualifications

Description

As a Level 1 (L1) Associate Security and Threat Monitoring Analyst, you will be part of UKG’s Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) team responding to suspicious/malicious activities as identified by the SIEM and/or submitted by a UKG customer/partner/end user. Leveraging your experience and UKG GSOC established response plans, you will triage incoming notables to determine; 1) validity; 2) accuracy; 3) priority; and identify and action on the appropriate actions through either a documented response plan or via escalation to L2/L3 as required. You will be part of UKG’s and will work closely with our L2/L3 analysts in the US and EU.
Shift Schedule:
• Flexibility to work different shifts (morning, afternoon, and night) on a rotational basis.
• Willingness to be on-call for emergency situations outside of regular hours.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to have on-call duties on weekends.
Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in a 24x7 monitoring capability
• Triage alerts or events of interest quickly
• Identify and ascertain accuracy of alert (true positive, false positive)
• Determine initial ticket priority
• Perform actions as documented or escalate to L2/L3 as required
• Update tickets as required
• Produce and dispatch notifications (templates) as required

Qualifications

Qualification:
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, programming, or related field.
• 6 months to 3 years work experience in IT
• Advanced training certifications such as CEH, SSCP or CompTIA Security+ may be advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Good anticipation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to remain current on the latest technology and best practices in information security.
