We are looking for an experienced analyst with a solid mix of business acumen and technical expertise to implement and improve our products and platforms within the Business Intelligence domain. You will analyze business and technical objectives and create detailed specifications for BI Engineering, articulating both functional and non-functional requirements. You will also triage customer escalations and engage appropriate teams to bring the issue to resolution.

This is a great opportunity for a BI Developer who wishes to move into an Analyst role.

This role can be based out of our Weston FL office or it can be done as a remote employee. The work schedule will be on Eastern Standard Time.

Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
• Translate product, platform and customer needs for Business Intelligence, Embedded Analytics and Reporting offerings into detailed functional and technical specifications in the form of INVEST based agile stories.
• Break down features defined by BI Product Management into stories and manage story backlog
• Actively participate in shaping the BI product roadmap and release plans
• Understand commercial BI platform capabilities, evaluate new features as they become available and drive their adoption
• Formulate requirements for turning a commercial BI tool into a platform enabling embedded analytics capabilities across the UKG product portfolio
• Seek innovative opportunities to differentiate UKG BI offerings, platforms, tools, and services.
• Establish close collaboration with the Engineering teams responsible for the development and support of the assigned BI offerings, platforms, tools, and services.
• Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with all members of the Data Organization as well as stakeholders across the UKG portfolio of products and services.
• Triage customer escalations that BI Support staff and Technical Resolution Team are unable to solve without assistance from product experts
• Dispatch trouble tickets to the appropriate engineering, infrastructure, and product support teams when their involvement is required.
• Stay up to date with current BI technologies and technical developments


• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role involving direct responsibility for BI solutions.
• 2+ years of experience as a hands-on BI developer on an enterprise-grade BI platform such as Cognos.
• 2+ years as a data analyst or another hands-on data-centric role with demonstratable understanding of SQL and SQL Server development.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and constructs such as dimensional modeling, operational data stores and data lakes.
• Experience in the Agile SDLC using methodologies such as Scrum and/or Kanban.

• Direct hands-on experience with Cognos strongly preferred. Candidates with no Cognos experience must be fast learners willing and able to leverage their knowledge of other comparable enterprise-grade BI platforms to quickly come up to speed on Cognos.
• 5+ years of Business Analyst experience in a commercial enterprise SaaS environment.
• Experience with Looker.
• Experience managing BI environments or platforms in roles such as System or Application Administrator.
• Experience with cloud software hosting / deployment.
• Experience deploying BI solutions on the Google Cloud Platform.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ambitious, results oriented, hardworking, creative thinker.
• Ability to work independently and make informed, consequential decisions without management supervision.
• Self-motivated, continuous improvement mindset and willing to “do what it takes” to get the job done.
• Ability to manage and balance multiple deliverables concurrently in an environment with shifting priorities.
• Proven ability to create both functional and technical stories that can be clearly understood by Engineering and ready for development.
• Ability to articulate specifications for technical products through tight collaboration with engineering.
