This Senior Business Analyst is part of our ‘Developer Experience’ team, facilitating the projects that make the tools to support our internal UKG developers. They will act as consultants, working with external and internal customers to define, analyze, and document custom software solutions for new and existing customers. A background as a Business Analyst within a software development environment is expected.

These projects require the Senior Business Analyst to gain specific domain knowledge in order to facilitate requirements interpretation and definition, and design. Business Analysts are occasionally called upon to act as a Quality Analysts to assist with testing custom applications.

Our Business Analysts manage multiple projects simultaneously. There are new projects every quarter, and they're mostly brand new; it's a lot of exciting, uncharted territory.

Primary Duties and Key Responsibilities:
• Elicit information about business processes, use cases, and necessary data models to identify. solutions that are efficient and provide customer value.
• Interpret user requirements based on a given business need.
• Facilitate requirements gathering and analysis sessions.
• Negotiate requirement priorities across project stakeholders.
• Develop “trusted adviser” relationships with clients to instill trust.
• Manage and strategically drive roadmaps for assigned areas.
• Create clear and concise documentation that serves the needs of both the client and UKG.
• Ensure customer understanding of requirements at various organizational levels.
• Collaborate with multiple internal resources to design solution and ensure project team understanding.
• Implement change-control, ensure scope is maintained, and escalate major scope changes as warranted.
• Provide regular project status updates to client and project management.
• Manage multiple simultaneous projects to meet client delivery dates.
• Provide input on customs development methodology and process improvements.
• When needed, test completed project against specification prior to project being delivered to client and facilitate user acceptance testing.
• Write and execute complex JIRA queries.
• Independently analyze large/complex projects.
• Manage impediments to prevent escalations, alert managers for unavoidable escalations.
• Provide project-specific analysis guidance to other team members.


Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with business process, analysis, and specification writing within a software product environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Working knowledge of database concepts and relational database systems.
• Ability to demonstrate strong change control, task management and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Agile/Kanban experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage expectations of self and others.
• Ability to work alone or in a team environment.
• Advanced knowledge of a single UKG software domain; basic knowledge in additional domains; understanding of cross-product/module impacts; known SME in area of specialization.
• Experience with applicable UKG Software.
