Description & Qualifications

Looking for a challenge to kick start your growth? Here it is! Be part of shaping a content design team that will work side-by-side with a hugely talented product design and research group. Our HR, Pay and Time apps are used by millions of employees around the world. The impact of your work will demonstrate to the business the value of content and fuel further investments in tools, systems, and talent. You’ll also support other writers across the company to continue unifying the UKG brand personality and voice.

How you will shape content design at UKG

• Transform jargon into words that help users move forward with confidence and ease.
• Use creativity and craft to make UKG’s products sound human and authentic.
• Gracefully inspire teams to embrace a higher writing standard by showing what’s possible with content-first design.
• Enjoy creating formidable partnerships with product designers and researchers to co-design content structures and layouts, terms, first-time experiences, and microcopy.
• Document style decisions and continue to develop the UKG style guide and content design system.
• Move from creating content to solve specific product problems to strategically evolving the overall program - the brand voice, content processes, frameworks, and systems.
• Bring passion and care to designing words that bring clarity and empathy to a person's experience with our software.
• Partner with the brand and visual designers to intentionally express personality and emotion in moments where our brand connects with the user.
• Comfortable working in Sketch, Abstract, and InVision – collaborating with product designers and researchers to create prototypes and respond to customer feedback.

• 3+ years of experience in content design for complex systems. You’re comfortable navigating large-scale problem spaces and collaborating across teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Human-Computer Interaction Design, or another relevant field.
• An impressive portfolio that demonstrates your understanding of the design process, collaboration style, and design ability.
• A proactive mindset - you anticipate needs and make informed decisions without needing frequent direction or instruction.
• You love to learn, are not afraid to try new ideas, and make mistakes. You seek feedback and critique so that you can improve the work.
• Critical thinking and curiosity to ensure you understand the bigger business picture and how your work will have the most significant impact.
