Sr. Data EngineerWe are looking for a Sr. Data Engineer to join our growing Data Warehouse and BI team. The ideal candidate is an experienced ETL developer or data engineer with experience in legacy ETL toolsets as well as familiar with modern cloud data solutions. The candidate should be proficient in migrating data and reauthoring existing legacy ETL code to cloud optimized ELT solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Support the migration of legacy on-premises DWs and ETL solutions to Azure
• Design and develop modern data pipelines using Azure cloud technologies to support the creation of a new modern data warehouse in Azure
• Provide continued support and enhancements for interim state on-premise systems running SSIS and Informatica (Cloud & Power Center)
• Conduct data profiling, cataloging, and mapping for technical designs
• Document technical data flows
• Adhere to Data engineering development standards
Qualifications
• 5+ years overall data warehousing experience including the design and management of ETL/ELT for the purposes of loading a data warehouse• 5+ years using legacy ETL tools such as Informatica Power Center/Cloud or SSIS (Preferred)
• Strong preference for candidates with hands on experience or exposure to the Azure Data Ecosystem (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Managed SQL, ADLS, Python/Scala, LogicApps etc.)
• Thorough understanding of data warehouse architecture and techniques especially as it pertains to the methodologies required to load data into such data models.
• Experience migrating on premise legacy ETL data and code to a modern data platform in the cloud is preferred; experience of source code management as well as CI/CD using Azure DevOps (or similar tools) to support the Data Platform is preferred
• Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative, and be a logical thinker; Must be able to act independently to determine objectives and methods or procedures to achieve broadly defined strategic outcomes
