UKG is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our internal engineering operations and support team. In this role, customers are engineers throughout the rest of the organization. Responsibilities will vary daily with a constant goal of providing timely, first class support and environment operations to Engineers as part of an Agile team.

This position requires customer focus, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both alone and as part of a team. The candidate will have hands on experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure or SaaS engineering, preferably with GCP knowledge. This position requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

• Provide technical support for all engineering (non-production) environments, infrastructure, and systems including shared services deployments, upgrades, and maintenance
• Automate repetitive tasks with scripts, code, or tools like Ansible
• Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure that engineering environments are running effectively at all times
• Follow state runbooks as well as utilize troubleshooting skills to restore service as quickly as possible in the event of an outage
• Actively monitor the application & infrastructure in engineering environments, react to alerts properly and perform root cause analysis
• Perform validations after scheduled changes within specified maintenance Windows ensuring proper functionality
• Provide day to day support to 1000+ engineering organization through a support queue following stated SLAs and processes
• Enhance knowledge base documentation used throughout engineering to allow self-service wherever possible


• Bachelor's Degree in Computer science or other Engineering discipline
• 5+ years experience in a technical support role or 3-5+ years of engineering/DevOps experience with a strong support mindset.
• Experience with Linux and ability to write code and/or scripts: java, ruby, python, Ansible, bash, etc
• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, GIT, CI/CD Pipelines, SSO, LDAP, API’s, Artifact Repositories and Infrastructure as Code
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated and a team player
• Knowledge of Apigee, Tomcat, Splunk, PostgreSQL, Jenkins, Terraform, a plus
