Job Summary:
As a key member of the Global Employee Communications team, the Employee Communications Specialist/Canada partners with assigned functions within UKG to provide communications support. A primary responsibility is translating communications and materials from English to Canadian French, editing the materials for accuracy and conversational flow, and managing the translation process. This position requires strong written and verbal communications skills as well as the ability to develop and execute communications and materials that engage employees and create knowledge and awareness of key initiatives.

Candidates must be self-starters and highly motivated to provide excellent customer service.


Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
• Translate documents from English to French, ensuring consistent terminology and context
• Proofread documents translated by external vendors for language accuracy
• Transcribe English audio and video recorded material into French and perform any other related language services
• Convert concepts in the source language to equivalent concepts in the French language
• Compile information, such as industry and UKG company terms, into glossaries to be used in translations
• Coordinate translation projects, including taking client requests, managing project timelines, and creating work plans
• Co-lead the UKG French Language committee to ensure compliance with Quebec French language laws in the workplace, including but not limited to ensuring overall compliance with rules, coordinating and submitting required reports and liaising with the OQLF.
• Provide support in development of internal communications, including emails, articles, newsletters, blogs, presentations and other business communications
• Ensure that all messaging is consistent, timely and appropriate, and that all functional initiatives are successfully communicated to the relevant audiences
• Use technology to effectively support communication programs and partner in the execution of our digital workplace strategy
• Identify and collect key metrics to measure communication program effectiveness

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills in both English and French
• Formal translation education or work experience with proven skills in translating from English to French
• Ability to interact with and influence executives and provide advice that reflects an understanding of their business and leadership style
• Team player: collaborative; seeks input; accepts, and incorporates feedback from others; and freely offers assistance
• Highly organized, detail oriented and accurate with exceptional follow-up skills
• Ability to multitask, including multiple high priority issues and able to set and manage expectations
• Customer-focused, positive and professional attitude
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn and develop new skills
