UKG is seeking a full-stack Senior Software Engineer with solid Java and Angular expertise to play a key role on a newly created development team supporting our newest Benefits product!

About the role:

You will be a founding member of this new team, focusing on full-stack development of innovative customer-focused experiences to help the company expand its solutions portfolio.

You’ll be working in an agile environment to create a green-field front-end experience, and to adapt an existing codebase to develop the APIs to power it. You’ll partner closely with the other software and quality engineers on your team, and with the product managers, analysts, and architects who bring requirements to the table.

*** HYBRID- this position is hybrid and requires to be in the office 3x per week- Alpharetta or Atlanta GA offices

About You:

• Develop & enhance effective programs & data structures that successfully meet the team’s goals.
• Participate effectively in relevant aspects of software development life cycle (SDLC) including planning, construction, testing, reviews and demonstrations.
• Participate and collaborate with other stakeholders including security, quality assurance, training, project management, engineering, hosting, & procurement when required to assist in other aspects of their projects.
• Collaborate with team to design, develop, test and refine deliverables.
• Investigate and resolve complex application issues as needed to package, configure and deploy software
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, & Analysts to develop and review requirements & design.
• Learn new technologies, methodologies and practices to increase the department’s productivity and better the department’s applications.
• Participate in collaborative code reviews to help learn and proper coding techniques and prevent regression defects or the introduction of problematic code
• Work independently to coordinate and implement technical solutions
• Mentor and train new engineers joining the team in technology, tools, procedure, standards, and guidelines for the department

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Solid experience in Java-based web development: Java, J2EE, REST Framework, Spring, AJAX, application servers, web servers
• Strong SQL skills – including Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers (MS SQL Server preferred)
• Front-end experience is a must: Angular is ideal, but other frameworks like React or Vue would also show your experience here, as well as a solid background in basic HTML, Javascript, CSS, and AJAX
• 3-7+ years industry experience in Enterprise Application Development
• Strong background in the fundamentals of programming concepts, design patterns, OOP, BDD, TDD


Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Version control systems and methodologies (GIT preferred)
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience
