Description

The Senior Engineering Manager will provide leadership to teams in the Payment Solutions group working on developing financial systems used directly by our SaaS customers as well as our Service group. Working closely with the Senior Director, the Senior Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing multiple teams, including Engineering Managers, to develop new capabilities for our financial systems deployed in the Cloud.

Essential responsibilities:
• Create the conditions for your Engineering Managers to succeed
• Collaborate with other organizations within the company to eliminate roadblocks for your teams
• Partner with the Product Management team to meet or exceed all committed Product timelines for the teams
• Synthesize high-level initiative descriptions and direction from your executive leadership to drive clear problem and success definitions for your teams
• Manage the Engineering capacity of 4-7 small teams
• Manage hiring plan/continually improve the talent and engagement level of the teams
• Accountable for team’s technical decisions and debt
• Represent the team at department level meetings and functions
• Continually triage and assign work based on team capabilities in the face of dynamic/shifting demands
• Manage quality of product KPI, manage SLA of the team, and drive continuous improvement
• Separate and combine tasks into efficient work flow for the teams
• Work with individuals to set appropriate, challenging development goals
• Meet requirements and expectations of both internal and external customers
• Provide actionable feedback and opportunities to team member to lead them to high performance
• Create strong team morale and spirit, defining success in team terms and sharing wins and successes

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• 6+ years of experience managing software engineering teams
• 6+ years of experience developing enterprise-scale SaaS products
• High EQ
• Strong communication and technical writing skills
• Ability to build professional network across the organization
• High engagement with team members
• Ability to come up with new and unique ideas to solve problems
• When planning, know what to measure and how to measure it
• Solid understanding of Kanban and Agile practices
• Experience in software design patterns
• Familiar with SDLC concepts and tools
• Experience managing 2+ teams and 1+ Engineering managers
• Data driven decision making
• University degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiar with collections, payments, and employer tax filing concepts
