Job Description for Software Architect within DFE

UKG is looking to hire a Principal Software Architect for the Platform Documents, Forms and E-Signatures domain. In this role, you will drive the technical vision and architecture of our next-generation document platform and document shared services to be used by all UKG product suites.


- Collaborate with product leaders in defining and understanding business requirements

- Collaborate with and mentor development teams in designing and delivering functional, scalable, resilient, adaptable, performant, and cloud-native services

- Drive design, architectural, and engineering impacting decisions and partner with other product and engineering leaders in building the roadmap

- Lead the development of proofs-of-concept solutions in collaboration with development teams

- Partner with peer architects at UKG on setting enterprise standards and assist development teams in complying with them


- 4+ years of Software Architecture and Software Development experience

- 2+ years of experience designing and delivering large scale distributed systems

- 2+ years of technical leadership experience and mentoring, managing/leading technical leads

- Expertise in solution design across the full technology stack

- Prior experience with relational and non-relational database technologies (ex. PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

- Good understanding of security, reliability, scalability, high availability, and concurrency architectural patterns and solutions

- Expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and patterns

- Prior experience with IaaS and/or PaaS technology (ex. AWS, GCP, Azure, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, etc.)

- Prior experience with messaging and event streaming solutions (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kafka Streams, Spark); event sourcing and CQRS is a plus
