Description

We are seeking a Sr Principal Software Engineer who is passionate about building scalable and robust data pipelines and have a track record of designing and implementing complex data architectures along with being the point person of contact for a team of engineers under his/her guidance.

As a Sr Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building large-scale data pipelines and managing the data infrastructure of the company. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, product managers, and software engineers to identify data needs, design data solutions, and build scalable, robust data pipelines.

Responsibilities:
• Design and implement large-scale data pipelines and data storage solutions.
• Develop and maintain data architectures that support business objectives and enable efficient data analysis.
• Manage data infrastructure including data storage, processing, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data needs.
• Build data pipelines that can handle large amounts of data in a scalable and efficient manner.
• Ensure data quality and accuracy throughout the data lifecycle.
• Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers as well as being the point of contact for team .

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and data engineering.
• Strong expertise in designing and building large-scale data pipelines using distributed systems like Hadoop, Spark, or similar technologies.
• Solid experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and familiarity with technology such as Cloud Functions, Dataproc, BigQuery, Apache Airflow among others.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
• Excellent programming skills in one or more languages like Java, Python, or Scala.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Sound knowledge of implementing automation tests along with use of testing tools and best software testing practices.
• good understanding of DevOps practices for building and deploying development and production environment along with utilizing DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Quark, etc. for CI/CD.
• Prior experience in a leadership or mentorship role is a plus.
