The Senior Scrum Master works within the UKG Work Force Management PMO, responsible for applying a servant leadership mindset when working with scrum teams and facilitating sprint ceremonies with a keen focus on helping teams leverage agile principles, best practices and frameworks in order to deliver high quality products on time. The Scrum Master helps oversee scrum and development teams and is knowledgeable in agile methodologies to coach others on best practices.
The preferred candidate will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to analyze and resolve conflict. Strong interpersonal skills will be key as a relationship builder and collaborator. He/she will be open-minded, and self-aware, flexible in their approach to solving problems, able to communicate in a positive and productive way that fosters a high level of collaboration and participation from an audience and demonstrates executive presence.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinates cross-functional agile development teams utilizing the principles and tools of the scrum framework.
• Fosters a positive environment for learning and continuous improvement across the agile practice and with development teams and leadership.
• Develops knowledge of the Dimensions SDLC and helps scrum teams come up to speed on developing sprint release plans, ensure the Definition of Ready has been met, and that teams understand what it means to reach the Definition of Done.
• Guides multiple embedded software development teams to deliver technology solutions through effective application of the Lean/Agile principles.
• Facilitates sprint ceremonies: daily stand-up meetings, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint review/demo and retrospective.
• Facilitates collaboration around iterative development, managing flow, calculating velocity, and removing impediments.
• Support teams and stakeholders by providing Jira agile boards, dashboards, and sprint metrics.
• Works with Product Owner and Team on backlog refinement and prioritizations.
• Identify risks, impediments, and cross-team dependencies.
• Facilitates all sprint ceremonies with a keen focus on helping teams develop healthy scrum practices to facilitate their delivery of quality products.
• Plays an active role during team meetings and presentations, making valuable contributions, and helping to build the brand of the scrum master role within UKG’s culture.
• Creates coaching content and runs new agile experiments or workshops.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and 3+ years of experience working with scrum teams in agile software development programs
• Certified Scrum Master. Advanced CSM accreditation is a plus
• Working experience with Atlassian Tool Set (JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience in SAFe is a plus
