Description
The DLS & UI Frameworks team is responsible for the global design system used to unify the look and feel for products across the UKG suite and handles platform level solutions enabling product teams to build high quality experiences faster. This includes creating and implementing tools primarily focused on improving the front-end development experience for product teams.Primary/Essential duties and key responsibilities:
1. Design system component library :
• The design system component library is currently implemented using web component technology. An engineer on this team is expected to be able to create a web component per the UX design spec, making sure to account for accessibility and usability
• An engineer on this team is expected to test a component in development for accessibility and usability, as prescribed by UX. This would include (but not limited to) manual and snapshot testing, accessibility checks, minor micro-interaction tests, etc.
• The online documentation site is a key piece in advertising guidelines to consuming product teams. An engineer on this team is expected to understand how the site is created and be able to add new functionality and/or apply fixes to existing functionality
• Many product teams will be consuming the component library and design system guidelines. An engineer on this team is expected to be able to answer questions consuming teams may have and pair with other engineers to clarify usage where needed
2. UI Frameworks:
• An engineer on this team would create reusable platform level solutions to speed up front-end development for product teams. These solutions should solve problems suite wide and promote a consistent user experience for UKGs customers
• An engineer on this team creates tools and services centered around improving the front-end developer experience for product teams
• An engineer on this team be involved in resolving security vulnerabilities found within shared dependencies

Qualifications
Required Qualifications/Skills• 4+ years front-end engineering experience
• Experience with design systems
• High competence with Typescript/JavaScript, node/npm, HTML, CSS3, flexbox, SCSS/LESS, CSS custom properties, component-based architecture, web components and testing libs and frameworks
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with product/design
The following is a list of nice to have skills but not required:
• Familiar with StencilJS and JSX
• Experience with at least one modern UI framework (Angular, Ember, Vue, React, etc)
• Experience designing/implementing large scale systems focused on solving front-end development problems in a reusable manner
• Knowledge of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) guidelines and how to implement them
