Software Engineers at UKG have a breadth of knowledge encompassing all aspects of software development and delivery. This can include the design, development, testing, and maintenance of product features. This will also include managing CI/CD deployment pipelines, automated testing, capacity planning, performance analysis, monitoring, alerting, and auto-remediation. Software Engineers must have a passion for learning and evolve with technological trends. They strive to innovate and are relentless in their pursuit of a flawless customer experience. We are looking for a full-stack developer who can develop and deploy with incredible speed, consistency, and availability.

Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

Develop enterprise grade solutions to maximize performance, scalability, and distributed processing capabilities while minimizing support and operational costs.

Support the operational aspects of an application in a production setting.

Partner with technical lead or architect to come up with designs for complex features to avoid problems, bottlenecks, and improper use of the product.

Work independently to coordinate and implement solutions to complex technical issues

Coordinate with other team members to align and ensure the integrity and quality of the final solution

Collaborate outside of the team to align and achieve expected outcomes

Identify and refactor areas of functional and architectural improvement

Provide leadership with new development efforts by contributing to the design and estimation of new features

Handle the software development cycle from end to end for both functional and non-functional areas of our product.


Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent experience, Masters’ preferred

5+ years’ experience engaging with software/test engineers on enterprise level software development projects

5+ years’ experience with OOP, Data Structures and Algorithms

Extensive experience with enterprise-scale software utilizing SaaS design principles

Experience with the development of API’s, and Web Services.

Experience with persistent data stores with enterprise-scale data.

Agile or Lean Software Development experience such as Kanban or Scrum

Proven experience successfully working within a team and managing a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities

Expert problem-solving skills

Deep understanding of the team domain.

Positive team player attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Self-motivated and willing to “do what it takes” to get the job done

Strong written and verbal communication skills


Experience with Cloud based applications is a must have.
• Experience with Containerization Technologies like docker, etc.
• Experience with Microsoft and Linux Technologies
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JS, Java/Kotlin, Angular, .Net/.NetCore, REST APIs

• Experience with Micro-service architectures.
• Experience in configuration and maintenance of applications such as web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems and messaging systems
• Experience with MongoDB, MySQL, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Redis and others
• Experience building and managing CI/CD Pipelines (TeamCity, Jenkins, etc.)
• Experience with public or private cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, Kubernetes, or Openstack)
• Experience with Production level monitoring and alerting with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.
