UKG is looking to hire a Java Engineer to join our extremely talented Product Development team! As one of our Java Engineers, you will be part of our continued improvement and growth of our HR and payroll software solution. As a Java Engineer at UKG, you’ll be embedded on a development team where you can work on the next generation of internet software where you’ll get to work directly with other Engineers, Software Testers, Business Analysts, Product Managers, and Directors, all of whom make up the team. In this highly collaborative environment, you will have the opportunity to grow as a software engineer, and even help mentor others.

The Java Engineer position requires excellent object-oriented programming skills and knowledge of design patterns. The job requires you to be able to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug complex software applications at the enterprise level. We are looking for a software engineer who is passionate about programming and truly enjoys what they do. The ideal candidate for the Java Engineer position is someone who has a can-do attitude and is an innovative thinker with the ability to communicate effectively with BAs and Quality Engineers, as well as work closely with other team members are key components for success in this position.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 3 or more years experience as a key developer on enterprise projects.
•Software development experience including: object-oriented programming, concurrency programming, modern design patterns, RESTful service implementation, service-oriented architecture, test-driven development, and acceptance testing.
•Familiarity with tools used to automate the deployment of an enterprise software solution to the cloud.
•Multi-tier application design and development.
•Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
•Java Spring
•Microservices architecture
•CQRS design pattern
•Events-driven architecture
•MongoDB/NoSQL
•RabbitMQ
•Docker & Kubernetes
•SaaS software design principles. You understand engineering enterprise-scale software that is deployed using cloud technologies such as OpenStack, Docker and Kubernetes.
•You have experience designing and implementing APIs at scale using REST and MicroServices
•Object-oriented Java skills. You are a rock-solid Java developer and use it regularly. You know how to apply best practices in Java. (3+ years in Java Spring preferred)
•Proactive problem solving. You are self-driven, love to learn and contribute not just to your primary area but across boundaries

Teamwork is a must.



Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with continuous deployment, unit testing and automation tool like Selenium is a plus

Proficiency with Git as a version control system.

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
