Description & Qualifications


UKG is looking to hire a Software Engineering Manager to lead teams within the Integrations domain within our customer facing applications. You will be responsible for team flow, delivery, happiness, and continuous improvement. You will work with other engineering managers, product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to help your team(s) develop quality software aligned with product and company objectives. Our teams are global and most of our people work remotely.


- Lead global cross-functional teams building an environment based on transparency, accountability, and trust
- Aligning team objectives with product and enterprise objectives
- Own team processes to increase efficiency. Develop, measure and interpret statistics that serve as indicators of team performance. Use this information to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Facilitating inner and outer team interactions, protecting the team from disturbance
- Deliver simple and elegant solutions in the team portfolio based on agreed upon timelines and commitments while cultivating an environment conducive to high team morale and productivity
- Helping your team(s) give visibility on plans and progress to stakeholders
- Coaching your team members and supporting them in their professional development
- Set the example and expectations for team conduct. Inspire positive behavior and interactions. When needed, directly address, and resolve, behavior that falls below expectations
- Recruiting the best talent to help your team(s) achieve their objectives
-Act as a technical champion in the software engineering domain and be able to question during technical aspects of proposed designs or solutions


- 3+ years of experience in managing software engineering teams, ideally in a remote/distributed setting
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers
- Experience in software and web development, ideally in SaaS
- Good knowledge of agile software development practices
- Knowledge of architecture and design patterns
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in Lean-Agile development methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum or Scaled Agile.
- Strong work ethic with a sense of ownership, urgency, and drive and an unwavering commitment to do the right thing
- Experience as a technical leader and people manager in an engineering organization
