Description

UKG is seeking a detail-oriented individual to work in collaboration with application development teams to deploy, manage, and improve large-scale web-based SaaS platform solutions. This individual will be part of a team that monitors, analyzes, and improves the stability, performance, and serviceability of our applications. The ideal candidate: Updates and automates code to prevent issues as well as to streamline updates and the deployment of major system changes. Maintains production and test environments and monitors and troubleshoots issues. Responsible for quickly identifying and implementing fixes to down time as well as constantly identifying processes to prevent outages. Works to minimize time to market for major organizational changes that require cross-functional system updates. Requires a broad understanding of network, testing, infrastructure automation tools and coding language.

In support of our culture, we are adopting a hybrid working model of 3 days per week in the office and the rest of the week from home. The UKG office location that this position is connected to is Montevideo, UY.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Implement, manage, and improve deployments across private and public cloud platforms supporting SaaS solutions for external customers ensuring stability and performance of the applications
• Develop code to automate infrastructure management and platform tooling to reduce risk of failure and time required
• Set up and continuously improve monitoring tools for capacity and performance analysis of all virtualized environments to provide meaningful and actionable data
• Automate processes (bash scripts, api calls, environment deployments)
• Troubleshoot technical issues for multiple environment servers and network configurations to restore service to customers quickly and efficiently
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to mitigate and address these problems
• Participate in on-call rotation and resolution of major issues while on-call

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• Strong desire to automate everything
• 5+ years of experience with private or public cloud-based support tools and direct engineering and support experience (Openstack and GCP Preferred)
• Strong experience with Linux (ubuntu preferred); experience with containerized applications
• Experience with observability & monitoring solutions, such as Datadog, Kibana, Grafana, and Influx
• Experience scripting in any of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Bash, Ansible, PowerShell, Chef, Terraform


Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Strong and effective communication and documentation skills
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as collaborate with team members and project stakeholders
