Description & Qualifications


Ability to perform payroll-related functions, including but not limited to payroll processing, audits, and maintenance, with no assistance. 

Payroll Processing SME (Subject Matter Expert) takes care of audits and is capable of processing for any UMS customer.

Schedule knowledge-sharing sessions for the team.

Mentors team as a SME for YE/QE payroll activities, including ability to process complex QE/YE payroll adjustments.

'Excellent understanding of end-to-end US payroll processes.
• Prepares off-cycle payrolls and manual checks as necessary. 
• Escalates non-routine inquiries and issues to the payroll specialist, team lead, or manager, utilizing the proper escalation methodology and SLAs. 
• Builds strong partnerships with clients by providing superior service. 
• Participate in cross-training within other departments (HRIS, Benefits, Garnishment, Tax). 
• Identifies areas of client dissatisfaction, proposes solutions, and coordinates with the team lead or manager to resolve 
• develops and maintains awareness of SSAE16 requirements and is accountable for compliance with each task performed. 
• Demonstrates excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills and is able to implement preventative measures. 
• Reconciles all payroll-related accounts and activities. 
• Mentor Payroll Analyst I team members and assist with development. 
• Conduct knowledge transfer and/or participate in training new team members. 
• Assists with related special projects as required. 
• Performs other duties as assigned by the manager. 
• Maintain discretion and professionalism with team members and clients. 
• Quarter-end, year-end, and open enrollment assistance and task execution 

Has an advanced understanding of UKG-specific solutions and the ability to consistently demonstrate deep analysis and troubleshooting skills using UKG tools."

Advanced knowledge of all MS services (tax, garnishments, benefits, EEC, etc.) and how they integrate with payroll.

SME with in-depth knowledge of MS Payroll processes and procedures.

To ensure all the assigned payroll tasks and checklists are completed for the entire team before the due date.

To maintain the required level of accuracy at all times.

All the mandatory trainings are to be completed as per the assigned goals.

To come up with process innovation ideas for process standardization.

Supports the team in a TL capacity when the TL is unavailable.

Serves as the team's payroll subject matter expert; provides guidance to team members; and can be the go-to person for first-level customer escalations.

Mentor for Payroll, Reps. I, II, and III

Assist Leads with Audit

'Ability to independently analyze and solve complex problems using appropriate UKG tools and resources.

Complete complex tasks in an accurate and timely manner.

Define and recommend process improvements.

Participate in special projects and business initiatives that drive business growth and efficiency.

Oversees the team's special projects and business initiatives and supports the rollout.


Required Qualifications:

• Proficient report writing capabilities.
• Experience with large corporate payroll processing that includes exposure to benefits and 401(k)
• Knowledge of multi-state North American payroll tax laws
• Detail oriented, exhibiting strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Advanced knowledge using the Microsoft Office Suite of software to include Outlook, Word and Excel, including VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
• Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
(Experience, Education, Certification, License and Training)
• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent, three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of UKGPro is a plus.
• Knowledge of US and Canadian payroll laws.
• FPC or CPP certification
