Description

The Principal Advisor on the Strategic Advisory & Market Engagement Team is an influential subject matter expert in global workforce management and payroll prepared to transform the future of enterprise software. The Principal Advisor will be responsible for identifying new solution ideas for the hourly workforce and large organizations, working with the Research and Innovation Incubation team to test the concepts for market value in a 3-5 year horizon. Essential capabilities for this role are being a visionary, infinitely curious, and driven to solve some of the most complex problems in the vertical industries we serve. The Principal Advisor is also responsible for preparing the markets (vertical and geographic) for upcoming innovations and product releases by 1) deeply understanding the new products/offerings and how they support our strategic and corporate vision and 2) by educating influencers, industry analysts and 3) by becoming a trusted, knowledgeable expert and advisor in our chosen markets invited to speak at industry events and panels.



The Strategic Advisory team is a critical part of the Research and Innovation team which is responsible for the long-term vision and direction for all UKG’s product lines and for creating game-changing solution ideas for people at work. Collaborating closely with research teams specializing in market trends, competitive product intelligence, people science, go-to-market solution positioning, innovation incubation, mergers & acquisitions, and new market growth, this SME will help interpret implications of research findings for specific vertical industries. Identifying and illustrating transformative product ideas and conceptual solutions, this role will create presentations, white papers and collaborate to develop creative artifacts to educate external audiences on the opportunities and benefits of developing solutions that meet people where they are with what they need to thrive in their life and work.
This role reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Advisory & Market Engagement and exists to imagine and inspire workforce solution concepts 3 – 5 years into the future and consult with colleagues across the organization to influence and align solution roadmaps with that vision and direction. This person is also a key external influencer by sharing new concepts through educational conferences, industry associations, and professional networking.


● Recognized as a global expert in the payroll and workforce management (WFM) fields within and outside of the organization
● Provides forward-looking thought leadership in the global complexities of the intersection of pay, time, and scheduling alongside the evolution of WFM and human capital management (HCM) technology to people-centered Life-work Technology
● Anticipates emerging cross-functional business and regulatory issues in workforce management and collaborates on how to address potential impact on solution/s direction;
● Identifies high complex issues affecting global workforce renumeration, motivation, and productivity arenas and suggests directional approaches to resolve;
● Recommends new and ingenious products, processes or services that support the transition of functional WFM to Life-work Technology
● Leads multi-disciplinary initiatives with notable risk, complexity, and impact to distill research from across the Research and Innovation organization and translate relevance and recommendations for target audiences
● Develops new concept evangelization strategy and leads execution
● Acts as an advisor and influencer to senior leaders and other departments on future direction, notably Product and Services leadership

Qualifications

Qualifications

● 10+ years of experience in consulting, industry analysis, market research, or analytical product development experience
● Must speak and write in English
● Passion for technology and an understanding of software and business technology markets, trends, and dynamics
● Ability to prioritize and demonstrate relentless discipline in defining goals and achieving results
● Exceptional verbal and written communication; skilled with communication at all levels, with the ability to simplify complex concepts into digestible frameworks or messages
● Ability to distill emerging and abstract ideas into concrete concepts that drive business value
● Ability to create and present data in a visual format and explain insights clearly and concisely
● Ability to influence without authority and connect effectively across business functions and with different personalities
● Able to navigate and facilitate alignment in a complex global organization
● Proven ability to succeed in a dynamic & demanding environment to meet critical deadlines
● Strong (acquired) knowledge of UKG product organization and roadmaps
● BS or BA in Liberal Arts, Management, Business, Computer Science or other rigorous discipline
● Demonstrated ability to work in world-class product organization in a high-growth software company providing complex analyses and consultative guidance a plus
● Passion and empathy for the colleagues, customers, and markets you serve
