UKG is currently seeking a customer focused and experienced individual to join our Tax Filing Services Special Project team as a Tax Filing Services Consultant III. The potential candidate will work with UKG customers delivering timely, high-quality projects across a variety of value-added professional tax service offerings. You’ll be regularly communicating with UKG team members, the customer, and applicable tax agencies. A qualified candidate will have strong customer service and payroll tax filing experience. The position will demand strong organizational and analytical skills and problem-solving expertise. The qualified candidate should have a data-driven mindset, enjoy being very organized and detail oriented, while focusing on tax research.



Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to prioritize, organize, and execute project work to meet customer deliverables

Work directly with customers and tax agencies to reconcile tax accounts; receives low direction from senior members of the team and management

Prepare federal, state, and local tax documents for moderate to complex payroll tax projects, including amended and original tax returns

Participate and/or facilitate customer conference calls to provide project updates

Provide project status updates frequently to customer, including any changes to originally established timeline

Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers via written and verbal communication

Cross train and mentor peers

Document processes and procedures

Take on special projects outside of the standard

Performs in-depth account audits and analysis

Assigned projects of moderate to high complexity

Participates in initiatives and serves as a subject matter expert

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
Knowledge and the ability to work in various applications such as MasterTax, SSP, Salesforce, and UKG Pro

Advanced Excel knowledge

Advanced knowledge of payroll and employer tax

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working independently in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment, as well as collaborating and coordinating with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external

Exceptional written and verbal communications skills: ability to exercise a high degree of collaboration and problem solving

Ability to create action plans to address customer needs

Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll and tax

Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting or Finance, or similar

Ability to interpret a tax notice and take action to resolve

Ability to prepare original and amended tax returns

Understanding of project management, including planning and execution

Understanding of various processed for tax filing, payroll processing, quarter end and year end filing

FPC/CPP current certification

Colorado, New York, Washington, and California Pay Law

The pay range for this position in Colorado, New York, Washington and California is $66,800 to $95,950, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.

San Francisco Bay Area Pay Law

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area, the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $76,820 to $110,343 per year.
