The Senior Technical Course Developer is a member of the Engineering Product Innovation & Cloud (EPIC) Technical Training team. This instructional design role delivers high-quality learning experiences and collateral that conveys ideas, technical concepts, methodologies, and processes in a manner that meets learning and business objectives for an internal audience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing top-quality blended-learning experiences (eLearning, ILT, On-the-Job Training), will have worked in a technology /SaaS environment, and is comfortable working at a fast pace. This position requires a good balance of being independent and a team player.

• Reports to EPIC Tech Training Instructional Design Manager
• Collaborates with Learning Program Managers to determine business/learning needs
• Works with subject matter experts to design effective learning collateral and experiences
• Applies holistic learning experience design principles to meet internal development needs
• Using UKG design processes, templates, and tools, rapidly designs and develops engaging and impactful learning activities and compelling learning content, including but not limited to eLearning, instructor-led materials, On-the-Job Training (OJT) experiences, and performance support
• Expected to create content in multiple modalities (virtual classroom, eLearning, software simulations, etc.). Will have opportunities to keep skills current
• Develops eLearning content using Articulate 360 and other industry standard tools
• Develops general media in support of instructional programs
• Stays current in training trends and recommends innovative solutions for training media, methods, approaches, and new ideas in a cost-effective manner
• Ensures projects are completed on time and according to design, development, and quality standards
• Collaborates with training team members to meet team and organizational goals
• Contributes to and develops team policies, procedures, and techniques


• 5+ years as an Instructional Designer or equivalent experience designing and developing blended learning solutions (preferably in a SaaS environment)
• Experience developing in multiple modalities of instruction including instructor-led training (synchronous and asynchronous), eLearning, & structured experiences. Samples required
• Experience working in an Agile (SAM) and waterfall (ADDIE) design environments preferred
• Proven ability to develop training that incorporates adult learning theories, visual learning design, and interactive training techniques
• Strong proficiency with industry standard design software, such as Articulate 360 and Camtasia applications
• Experience developing instructional graphics, basic animation, video, etc. (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut, After Effects, or similar) preferred
• Strong analytical skills - differentiates ‘need-to-know’ and ‘nice-to-know’ content
• Strong oral/written communication and editing skills, ability to communicate concrete and abstract ideas for the appropriate audiences
• Must be flexible and be able to work in both teams and individually, influence changes, manage multiple commitments, demonstrate high attention to detail, and meet tight deadlines
• Experience designing technical certification programs a preferred
