Description

The Agency Relations Representative acts as a UKG liaison to Federal, State and Local tax agencies to ensure all new changes, mandates, and requirements from the tax agencies are met. This position provides compliance support across the organization; therefore, is required to have above average knowledge of UKG’s tax system and have exceptional knowledge of the assigned tax jurisdictions.

Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned tax agencies
• Negotiate resolution of customer mass events or escalated single customer issues with Tax Agencies
• Document filing processes for monthly, quarterly, and year-end tax returns (paper, e-file, Mag Media) to Federal, State and Local Tax Agencies
• Maintain awareness and documentation of special handling/exception processes for the assigned jurisdictions.
• Remain knowledgeable of state forms, rates, assessments, POAs, agencies’ systems, and any regulations & mandates.
• Proactively notify Team Lead/Management of potential mass penalty and interest situations.
• Review prior UKG filings and deposits to identify improvement opportunities and ensure that UKG is 100% compliant with agency requirements.
• Build and maintain strong peer relationships within the team and across the organization.

Qualifications

• 2 plus years working knowledge of payroll and tax filing requirements.
• Ability to negotiate positive resolutions with customers and payroll tax agencies.
• Proficient working with multiple systems and tools to perform job functions.
• Ability to work independently and within a team-based environment.
• Excellent analytical and follow-up skills.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
