UKG is looking for talented Tech Leads to lead our Product Development teams in building the next generation of products using microservices in technologies such as Java, Angular, React, Spring boot.
In this role, you’ll be leading a development team responsible for solving challenging design and development problems -- creating scalable, performant, resilient and secure services that are used by our Product Suite.
You will work together with some of the most highly skilled software professionals in the business designing, building, and maintaining globally available software that serves millions of people and processes millions of data points each and every day.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
· Research, design, test, and evaluate technologies for building reactive, event-driven systems
· Create architectural and technical design for complex features
· Responsible for maximizing the maintainability and extensibility of solutions
· Mentor developers on the team, fostering an environment of continued learning and improvement
· Empower the team to deliver quality software in a timely manner and continuously improve the development process
· Write high-quality code, that is supported by an appropriate level of testing and metrics
· Responsible for overseeing deployments, releases, and patches
· Have a high bar for yourself and others when working with production systems
· Intellectually curious to adapt to changing technologies, platforms, and environments
· Enjoy working in a collaborative environment with a diverse group of people partnering effectively with the team members, partners, and customers.

Required Qualifications/Skills:
· Recent experience with Kotlin, or Java
· Knowledge of microservices architecture
· Experience working on Google Cloud Platform/public cloud providers
· Proficient with Command-Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) and Event Sourcing
· Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, and public cloud deployment platforms
· Experience with, or understanding of, Agile/Lean Software Development practices such as Kanban or Scrum
· Strong experience working with continuous integration and continuous delivery
· Ability to manage and balance multiple deliverables concurrently in an environment with shifting priorities
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
· Self-motivated, continuous improvement mindset and willing to “do what it takes” to get the job done

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Java, Kotlin, Spring
· Microservices architecture
· CQRS design pattern
· Kafka
· Event-driven and event-sourced architectures
· Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL
· MongoDB/NoSQL
· Docker & Kubernetes
· Angular, HTML, CSS, Typescript
· Continuous deployment, unit testing and automation tool like Selenium is a plus
· Zero downtime deployment experience

Education/Certification/License:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering; equivalent experience accepted.

Travel Requirements:
· 0-25%
